Nar Projesi (Pomegranate Project)

Our project is inspired by a mythological story. Ancient Egyptians believed that the pomegranate was "the world's first fruit." In the project, we see kindergarten students as the first fruit of education.

At the same time, pomegranate in Greek mythology is included in the section about Hades. Hades gifts a pomegranate to prevent Persephone, whom she kidnapped, from returning. Persephone has to stay underground for months as long as the pomegranate seeds she ate. Persephone ate four pomegranate seeds, and these four coincide with the winter months. During this time, his mother Demeter stopped distributing blessings from grief. If Persephone eats 12 pomegranate seeds, there will be famine for an entire year.

Our project aims to improve students' problem-solving skills by reducing the four-month period of famine in mythology to four global problem areas (Climate Change-Protection of Water Resources-Digital World and Artificial Intelligence-Natural Resources Exhaustion) in today's world.

Projemiz mitolojik bir öyküden ilham almaktadır. Eski Mısırlılar narın “Dünyanın ilk meyvesi” olduğuna inanırlardı. Proje de anaokulu öğrencilerini eğitimin ilk meyvesi olarak hayal ediyoruz.

Aynı zamanda Yunan mitolojisinde nar Hades ile ilgili bölümde geçer. Hades, kaçırdığı Persephone’nin geri dönmesini önlemek için ona bir nar hediye eder. Persephone’nin, yediği nar tanelerinin sayısı kadar ay süresince yeraltında kalması gerekmektedir. Persephone dört nar tanesi yemiş, bu dört sayısı da kış aylarına denk düşmüştür. Bu süre zarfında annesi Demeter üzüntüsünden bereket dağıtmayı bırakmıştır. Persephone 12 nar tanesi yeseydi, bütün bir yıl boyunca kıtlık olurdu.

Projemiz mitolojide dört aylık bereket dağıtılmayan süreci günümüz dünyasında küresel dört sorun alanına ( İklim Değişikliği- Su Kaynaklarının Korunması- Digital Dünya ve Yapay Zekaya Uyum- Doğal Kaynakların Tükenmesi) indirgeyerek, öğrencilerin problem çözme becerilerinin gelişmesini amaçlamaktadır.
